A BRIDE’S INTERVIEW WITH ANDREA FREEMAN

How long have you been doing what you do and how did you become a wedding and event planner?

When I was 16 years old I had the opportunity to work at a summer camp for girls with disabilities in Kansas City.  After I returned home to NY I realized that my town didn’t have a camp like that and should – so I started it.  I ran the camp for a number of years and eventually turned it over to the local Girl Scout council when it was time for me to go to college.  During those years I discovered that I was not only a great leader, but also a talented Event Planner - passionate about creating connection and community!  Creating events that gave people memories to last a lifetime was not only worthwhile, and felt wonderful, but helped me to realize I needed to figure out how to make this my career.  And so I did.

In 2005, after wrapping up my first, and only, year as a teacher, I found my calling to open my own company and I launched a catering company.  Very quickly, however, my clients recognized my creativity and at their request, I came out of the kitchen to design and plan one-of-a-kind celebrations.

The best part was when I discovered how to remove “dreaded” parts of event planning – Those “dreaded” part being stress, lack of time and know-how.  In addition hearing what people really want, deep down inside, and helping them discover who they are and what is truly important to them.  My favorite part about tapping into these keys for dream event planning is that I learned how to create space for my clients that allows them to enjoy every moment of the time leading up to their event. Nothing is more important than that!

We love your event planning services and portfolio.  Everything sounds great.  So, can you tell me how you’re different from all the other event planners out there?

Andrea Freeman Events is a full-service boutique wedding and event planning company serving New York City Metropolitan Area, Los Angeles and other destination locations.  I’m not interested in mass-producing events so I’ve created a boutique planning service that I’m committed to preserving, which allows my Custom Design clients to receive my full and complete attention.

I’m not the cheapest – I just get it right.  If that’s what you absolutely need I’m the right one for you.  BUMMER!

We will match vendors to your event planning needs, tastes, and personality.  The success of every event depends on the team of professionals chosen to bring it all to life.  We have endless resources at our fingertips of only the finest, most reliable vendors in the industry and the most spectacular locations.  We guide you quickly and efficiently to exactly what you are looking for and save you time and energy in the process.

The events we plan and design alongside our clients are also completely distinct… from one to another, meaning that they are custom to our clients, not to what I love or to what my tastes are.  It’s not about me – it’s about you.  In fact, I’ve done a nearly perfect job when everything flows seamlessly and my team and I are very much in the background.

I once heard that “if you do what you love you’ll never work another day in your life.”  Give me six months or even six weeks to create a one of a kind celebration and I’m in my glory.  Nothing thrills me more than new locations, new design requests, or challenging timelines.  With a specialty in quick planning, I rarely have more than a year to design a wedding or event.  I’m always ready for a new adventure, and making the impossible not only possible, but also exquisite makes my heart sing!  I consider it a compliment when my clients ask me, curiously, how I can produce such luxurious events so quickly.  Some things are better left a mystery!

Who do you work best with?

You will benefit best from working with me if you don’t have the time, the resources, or the know-how to get this done on your own.  If you know what you want, but have no idea how to get there, or if you are not clear at all about how to plan your dream event, that’s okay.  You are the perfect candidate.

This sounds like everything we’ve been looking for.  What happens next to start the event planning process?

Fabulous!  The next step is for you to call me at 646.675.1664 or you can email me to set up a “get acquainted” complimentary session.  I’ll be happy to describe the process in more detail.

May we contact some of your former clients to see what it’s like to work with you?

Even though our clients have become huge fans of our planning services many of them tend to be very private people.  They have shared their gratitude for our services in countless letters and emails and you can see those here.

Please feel free to call me with any questions or ideas you may have at 646.675.1664 or you can contact me to discuss your event.  I can’t wait to meet you!

Warmly,

Andrea
